Terms & Conditions

By accessing or using the MagulYaluwo website and services ("Platform"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms") and all applicable laws and regulations of Sri Lanka.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Platform. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time; continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

MagulYaluwo ("we", "our", "us") is an online directory and hiring platform that connects wedding couples ("Clients") with wedding retinue professionals ("Freelancers") across Sri Lanka. Retinue roles include but are not limited to: bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girls, ring bearers, drivers, hair & makeup artists, and photographers.

MagulYaluwo acts solely as an intermediary and is not a party to any contract formed between a Client and a Freelancer. We do not employ, supervise, or guarantee the performance of any Freelancer.

• Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use the Platform.
• Accuracy: You agree to provide truthful, accurate, and current information during registration and to keep your account information up to date.
• Security: You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately at hello@magulyaluwo.lk if you suspect any unauthorised access.
• One account per person: Creating multiple accounts to circumvent suspensions or platform policies is prohibited.
• Account suspension: We reserve the right to suspend or permanently ban any account that violates these Terms without prior notice.

• Freelancers must provide accurate profile information including age, skills, daily rate, and availability status.
• Profile photos and gallery images must be authentic representations of yourself and your work.
• Freelancers are solely responsible for fulfilling any bookings or agreements made with Clients through the Platform.
• Freelancers must not solicit Clients to circumvent the Platform or harm MagulYaluwo's business interests.
• Freelancers are independent contractors. MagulYaluwo is not your employer and does not provide workers' compensation, tax withholding, or employment benefits.
• You are responsible for all applicable income tax, EPF/ETF contributions, and any other legal obligations arising from your services.

• Clients must use the inquiry system in good faith and provide accurate event details.
• Clients are responsible for verifying a Freelancer's suitability for their event before entering into any private agreement.
• Harassment, threatening language, or inappropriate contact towards Freelancers is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination.
• MagulYaluwo is not liable for any disputes, damages, or losses arising from a private agreement between a Client and a Freelancer.

Booking payments between Clients and Freelancers are arranged privately and are not processed through MagulYaluwo. We are not responsible for those transactions.

Featured Profile Upgrades:

• Freelancers may pay a fee to have their profile featured at the top of search results for a fixed duration (7, 30, or 90 days).
• Payment is made via bank transfer or mobile payment to the bank account details displayed on the upgrade page.
• After submitting your payment reference, your upgrade request is reviewed and approved by an administrator within 24 hours on business days.
• Featured slots are activated only after payment is verified.
• All upgrade fees are quoted in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) and are inclusive of any applicable taxes.

You retain ownership of content you upload (profile photos, gallery images, bio text). By uploading content, you grant MagulYaluwo a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, reproduce, and promote that content in connection with the Platform's operation and marketing.

Prohibited content: You must not upload content that is:

• Sexually explicit, obscene, or offensive
• Defamatory, harassing, or threatening
• Infringing third-party copyrights or trademarks
• Misleading, fraudulent, or impersonating another person
• In violation of any Sri Lankan or international law

We reserve the right to remove any content at our sole discretion and without notice.

All Platform content not provided by users — including the MagulYaluwo name, logo, design, software, text, and graphics — is the exclusive intellectual property of MagulYaluwo and is protected under Sri Lankan and international copyright law.

You may not copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of any Platform content without our prior written consent.

To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of Sri Lanka:

• MagulYaluwo provides the Platform on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind.
• We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.
• We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from: (a) your use of or inability to use the Platform; (b) any transaction between a Client and a Freelancer; (c) unauthorised access to or alteration of your data.
• Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim shall not exceed LKR 5,000 or the total amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, whichever is less.

You may delete your account at any time via hello@magulyaluwo.lk. Upon deletion, your public profile will be removed; however, inquiry records may be retained for a period required by law.

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you:

• Violate any provision of these Terms
• Provide false or misleading information
• Engage in fraudulent activity, including submitting false payment references
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users or platform staff

Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any Featured Profile fees already paid.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Platform shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
